Our Brands:

The Deborah Lindquist Eco Lifestyle Brand is a bespoke collection of unique eco conscious women’s clothing, accessories, home decorative accessories, and couture fashion created from a blend of sustainable, organic, and recycled materials.

Our Vegan brand Green Queen by Deborah Lindquist is focused on basic, active, and handworked lifestyle pieces for women and men. Fabrics are a mix of sustainable, organic, and one of a kind fabrics.

To easier identify the types of fabrics used in products in our online shop, we designed graphic icons and added them to the product page description. See more detail about each fabric category along with the corresponding icons below:

Organic Fabrics

We use organic cotton and organic linen grown from non-genetically modified plants, grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. By eliminating the use of toxic chemicals used in commercial cotton and linen production, the result is a healthier product and a healthier environment.

Sustainable Fabrics

Modal and Tencel are synthetic fabrics made from the natural cellulose found in wood pulp. Modal is made from beechwood, Tencel from eucalyptus, and both are fully biodegradable. The fibers are produced via an advanced “closed loop” solvent spinning process, with minimal impact on the environment and economical use of energy and water. The 99% solvent used in the process is recovered and continually recycled. We use modal throughout our Green Queen brand.

Hemp is one of the earliest and fastest growing domesticated plants known, and is an environmentally friendly crop as it is naturally pest resistant and requires no herbicides to grow quickly. Hemp is similar to linen in its look and feel, and only water is needed to break down the “bast” fibers into usable fibers for fabric. Hemp is one of our favorite sustainable fabrics and is used often in our Eco Couture Wedding Collection as well as in our Green Queen brand.

 Recycled/Reincarnated Fabrics

We incorporate artistic recycled materials of many types in our Eco Lifestyle  Collections and “reincarnate them into new products.

Recycled textiles are post-consumer textiles remade, "Upcycled",  or in our terminology, "Reincarnated" into new garments. They uphold the same principles of sustainability that come from other aspects of our lives: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Our reincarnated fabrics include cashmere, wool, denim, leather, lace, saris, beaded fabrics, scarves, nylon parachutes, and anything else we find and love.

Sonic Fabric is an audible textile developed by artist Alyce Santoro and created from recycled recorded audio cassette tape. Sonic Fabric is versatile textile woven from 50 percent polyester thread and 50 percent audiocassette tape recorded with intricate collages of sound. We used this inventive textile to create Steampunk inspired bustiers and corsets, found in the Special Occasion and Weddings category.

Deadstock Fabrics

Deadstock fabrics are left over/end of production rolls or excess textile inventory. These fabrics are stored, discarded, or in our case, rescued. We love beautiful, artistic fabrics, and we pick the fabrics which best fit our design and ethical philisophy to create limited availability deadstock capsule collections.

Deadstock collections are limited edition or one of a kind depending on fabric availability.

Vegan Fabrics

Vegan lifestyle choices include not only food choices but a choice of what to wear. There are many vegan or non-animal fabrics available, but for us the fabric must also be non harming to the environment.

Microplastics from plastic, polyester, and other synthetic fabrics can be found in our water supply and in the fish and creatures of our waterways. It is very important to consider a broader environmental scope when choosing vegan fashion. Our Green Queen line is completely vegan, as well as our parachute, denim, and deadstock collections.
